I have a confession to make! I am officially addicted to Zwift.
With work picking up and, whether I like it or not, fall is here. Meaning I have shorter nights and limited chances to get outdoors and ride.
Full disclosure, I’ve been on Zwift since it was in Beta. Though I never used the platform as I hated my trainer and riding indoors. I preferred to be fat and lazy during the winter months.
Then something happened. I purchased a Tacx Vortex Smart. What a difference that made! Suddenly riding indoors became harder and something that actually resembled the outdoors.
After that I jumped in with both feet. I started looking at the workout plans, wanted to level up, and accomplish achievements. I recently even started racing on the platform.
But something else happened. I realized that it actually works at making you a better cyclist.
For Amelia Island, Zwift was my primary training tool. Zwift, kept my fitness up, allowed me to log miles, and prepare when outdoor riding wasn’t a reasonable option.
If you are not on Zwift, try it out. You have nothing to loose.
Till next time – make every mile count!
